I am based in the Australian city of Melbourne having relocated from San Francisco last year. My family came to Australia as refugees after the second world war and we are fortunate to live in one of the best lands on earth.

From 2009 to 2012, I worked as Victoria's Commissioner to the Americas facilitating and driving two way Foreign Direct Investment and exports.

Today, I am a Barrister in private practice. I am also a Director of Victor Perton Global Partners Pty Ltd and other entities. We support businesses extending their reach across Asia-Pacific with an emphasis on business between the Americas and Australia.

I have a long interest and practice in social media. I deliver practical advice, coaching & mentoring in corporate & personal use of social media. My 3 principles of good social media strategy are: Be interested; Be interesting & Be courteous.

My volunteer interests include the Presidency of ANZMEX - The Australia-New Zealand Mexican Chamber of Commerce. I assist multicultural and religious NGOs with advice on government affairs and international relations. I mentor and coach several folk in politics, public policy and networking.

I edit and write for two blogs: Victor Perton’s Blog and Lands of Opportunity. I am an optimist and my sunglasses are tinted rose-coloured: This world view is reflected in my writing and social media activities on facebook, linkedin and twitter.
